Napoli is reportedly mulling a bid for Tottenham center-back Eric Dier during the upcoming transfer window, according to Il Mattino (as cited by The Sun).
Dier was reportedly the top center back target for AS Roma in January, according to a number of Italian publications back in November. Jose Mourinho was reportedly eager to get back together with the Tottenham player (TMW).
The Spurs star, though, has reportedly drawn less interest from Roma in the last week or two, according to Gazzetta dello Sport and AS Roma Live, with the Giallorossi reportedly considering other options.
There is currently competition for Eric Dier for Roma.
Il Mattino has now hinted that when the January transfer window opens, Napoli may compete with Mourinho’s team to capture Dier.
It is explained that the reigning Serie A champions are keen on strengthening at centre-back and are keeping a close eye on the 29-year-old, given his current predicament at Tottenham.
The report reveals that Dier is not the only Premier League defender that Napoli are looking at, with Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Wolves’ Max Kilman also said to be on their radar.
