Stuart Dallas is still undergoing individual training and has not returned to Leeds United team training, according to Daniel Farke. Jamie Shackleton and Sam Byram, however, might give him a “surprise.”

Dallas, 32, has not played for us since April 2022 due to a fractured leg. His contract expires at the end of the current campaign. An injury sustained against Manchester City necessitated an almost eight-hour surgery.

When Dallas will don a Leeds shirt once more is still unknown, as is if he will have enough time to convince Leeds that he deserves to have his contract extended. As things are, he departs free.

Shackleton and Byram are two more players who, barring an offer from another team, will be gone at the conclusion of the season. Both of them are currently injured in their glutes and hamstrings.

According to the team’s YouTube channel, Farke was questioned during Thursday’s press conference regarding the health of all three Leeds players. Dallas is still out, he said, but Byram and Shackleton might have something special in store for him.

“Stuart [Dallas] cannot go back to team training; he is still in individual training.” Farke informed the media on Thursday that Sam Byram and Jamie Shackleton were in treatment. “They’ll be back after the new year, but let’s see,” Farke said.

Maybe there’s a good surprise, but they can’t make it to the game this weekend. About Byram and Shackleton, the Leeds boss continued, “There’s a slim chance they could make a comeback before the new year.

Daniel Farke claims that the lead duo might surprise him by coming back early.

It’s unfortunate about Dallas. The Northern Irishman is still finding it difficult to get back into the game at Elland Road,  despite his diligence, hard work, and what must be a trying and stressful period to restore his fitness.

Is it appropriate for Leeds to extend an offer to him? You’d like to think he’s accomplished enough, particularly at the highest level, to warrant another year. Time will tell, though. Leeds needs Byram and Shackleton in this regard.

With his versatility, Shackleton is a great asset to have on the bench, but Byram remains our strongest option on the left side of defence. Hopefully, they make a comeback in this hectic period.
