George Hirst, a striker for Ipswich Town, believes his team can “hurt” Leeds United on Saturday afternoon in front of a crucial match in the race for automatic promotion from the Championship.

For Ipswich, Hirst has been unstoppable, spearheading Kieran McKenna’s offensive. After an initial loan from January of last season, he was signed for £1.5 million in the summer from Leicester, and he has contributed to 12 goals in the Championship.

He has made 21 league appearances, contributing six assists and six goals. The 13-time England U20 player was even connected to a 2017 transfer to Leeds during Hirst’s breakout season at Sheffield Wednesday.

In an interview with the Ipswich Town website prior to Saturday’s match between third and second place, which has a 10-point differential, Hirst acknowledged the calibre of this Leeds team but expressed confidence in their ability to cause problems for Leeds.

“Going to assess our situation is really important for us. It is our desire to blend in with them. We’ll be prepared. Excellent side with lots of offensive potential. We must exercise discipline in this game and truly master the fundamentals.

“Once we achieve it, we will know we possess the ability to harm them. It’s considering ways to harm them and win the match. We do best when we are well-behaved. We’ve improved greatly at it,” he remarked.

George Hirst believes Leeds United can be harmed by Ipswich Town.

This game is going to be really interesting. According to Sky Sports analyst Jobi McAnuff, the onus is on us.Leeds defeated Ipswich at Portman Road despite being ten points down.Leeds has impressed Kieran McKenna.

Leeds’s victory on the road will give them confidence. However, we enter the game having drawn against Coventry and lost to Sunderland in our previous two outings. I have no idea what this game is about.
