Micky van de Ven will celebrate winning a nine-dart match against darts umpire Russell Bray tonight, but Tottenham Hotspur fans are more concerned about the defender returning to training within the next two weeks.

Van de Ven quickly established himself as a key player in Ange Postecoglou’s side after joining from Wolfsburg this summer, forming a strong partnership with Cristian Romero at the heart of Spurs’ defense.

 

It is no coincidence that Van de Ven was injured in early November and the Lilywhites went five games without a win in his absence.

Unfortunately, the young Dutchman’s injury highlighted weaknesses in Postecoglou’s team.

Tottenham are expected to sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window to ensure this situation (Telegraph), but Spurs fans still want Van de Ven back as soon as possible I’m eager to do that.

Van de Ven reveals when he will return to training Well, there is good news on this front.

The 22-year-old took to the Ally Pally stage this weekend to take part in a fun darts challenge.

Not only did he win, but he also shared an update on his road to recovery.

The Spurs defender is expected to recover from the injury during January, but revealed (via Rob Moll) that he will be back in training “within two weeks”.

Van de Ven also managed to defeat outgoing darts referee Russell Bray in the nine dart competition that night.

But in all seriousness, it’s very good news that Van de Ven will be back in training soon, and we hope that the end of this terrible injury is in sight.

If he comes back, we will be more in tune as a team.
