With his response to the center-back on social media following yesterday’s victory over Ipswich Town, Ethan Ampadu captured the sentiments that many Leeds United supporters undoubtedly have towards Joe Rodon.

Leeds achieved what might prove to be a significant outcome in the Championship’s race for automatic promotion. At Elland Road, Daniel Farke’s team destroyed the Tractor Boys, winning 4-0 to cut their opponents’ lead to seven points.

Leeds defeated Ipswich to become just the second team of the season to maintain a clean sheet. And once more, Joe Rodon was outstanding in the back.

Joe Rodon celebrated Leeds’ victory.

According to Whoscored, Rodon had the most interceptions and clearances of any player on either side. Additionally, he had excellent game reading since he always seemed to be in the perfect place when Leeds needed him.

Many will be hoping Leeds can secure Rodon’s permanent signing. Furthermore, it seems that Ethan Ampadu would be delighted to have him stay.

Rodon posted on Instagram to share his happiness following the victory over Ipswich. And in his response, Ampadu expressed his admiration for the center-back.

It appears that Leeds must prioritise keeping Rodon. It became evident during our league tenure just how hard it is to locate a good center-back.

Rodon has undoubtedly yet to establish himself at the greatest level despite having difficulty getting into games for Tottenham. However, it appears that his and Pascal Struijk’s collaboration is only getting stronger.

Whether or if he is part of the Spurs’ long-term plans might determine a lot. It is difficult to see what he can do at Leeds to persuade Postecoglou, though, considering that he had previously made an impression in the Championship with Swansea. And that might raise our chances of reaching a future agreement.

As things stand, we really hope Rodon stays at Elland Road for the duration of the current campaign.
