Before their match against Liverpool on New Year’s Day, Newcastle United has revealed their most recent batch of training photos, and one man is noticeably missing.

In an attempt to win at Anfield for the first time since 1994, players like Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have been training for the forthcoming match.

It will be a challenging task, particularly considering how badly Newcastle is performing and how well Liverpool is playing.

Furthermore, it doesn’t appear that any of the Magpies’ injured players will return. Neither Joe Willock nor Harvey Barnes appeared to be recovering from their injuries, and Eddie Howe was unable to provide a positive update on either player.

That is a setback, and the most recent training photos posted on the team’s official website are also not encouraging.

No one saw Miguel Almiron and others during Newcastle’s training.

Newcastle United’s official website now features 26 images from Friday morning’s training session.

Miguel Almiron is one of the several senior players who hasn’t been included in the photo.

Almiron was not mentioned by Howe at his pre-game news conference, but given that he hasn’t been seen in practice, some fans may be unsure about his availability for Monday night’s encounter against Liverpool.

The 29-year-old, who has started 11 straight games for the Magpies, is receiving a lot of criticism from supporters following a run of subpar outings. The Paraguayan has been having a concerning run of form, missing clear opportunities against teams like Everton and AC Milan. He was substituted off the field after 55 minutes against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

It’s unclear why he hasn’t been seen in training given there was no indication of an injury. It might be as easy as the camera missing him instead of him being a question mark for Liverpool right now.

No one could be found in any of the 26 pictures from Friday morning’s training session that were posted on the team’s official website, including Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier, and Jamaal Lascelles.
