Boulaye Dia, a striker for Salernitana, has been linked to Newcastle United recently.

Numerous rumours stating the Magpies have been scouting the Senegal international have come from Italian outlets

Before Christmas, for example, Gianluca Di Marzio stated that Newcastle director Dan Ashworth had gone to Italy to watch Dia and other players play against AC Milan.

More recently, the Magpies and Eintracht Frankfurt “like him,” according to Italian journalist and Salernitana expert Carmine Raiola, who spoke with Labaro Viola on Radio Bruno.

In response to Fiorentina’s interest, the reporter stated that suitors “will have to spend €21 million (£18 million).” On the other hand, the cost might be reduced with technological equals.

“In my opinion, he will depart; consider what transpired during the summer. incredibly powerful but has a very nuanced personality. Newcastle and Frankfurt like him from overseas.

“He’s about to reach his prime.”

According to Dean Jones, Newcastle is actively looking for a replacement striker in case Dia becomes available and Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are out at the same time.

He said “It’s not really surprising that they’ve been keeping an eye on Boulaye Dia because they’ve been watching him for a little while now.”

“Definitely more than a year ago, even before this whole thing started.

To be honest, they may have been watching Boulaye Dia for as long as two years as a young talent they believed would eventually make a breakthrough.

“It goes without saying that he is entering his late 20s and will shortly reach his prime. Therefore, pursuing a player of this calibre will need to wait until the following year.

It would be intriguing to observe if they visit that place. They do desire an additional striker because they are concerned that Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak might be sidelined simultaneously once more.

Newcastle will be optimistic about signing Boulaye Dia.

With the January transfer window open, Newcastle will undoubtedly like their chances of acquiring Dia.

He is a competent player who will add quality to their front line, the club is likely to approve a trade, he is apparently keen to move, and at roughly £18 million, he shouldn’t break the bank.

Dia participated in all three group matches and the England lost in the round of sixteen at the 2022 World Cup. He also made one goal against Qatar, the hosts.
