Chelsea fans would be incensed by Gallagher’s transfer to Tottenham, and there would be no love lost between them.

With the exception of one Premier League match, the former Crystal Palace loanee has started every game under Mauricio Pochettino, making him a vital member of the team.

Although the midfielder hasn’t scored a goal this season, he has four assists in the league and has captained the team multiple times when Reece James has been injured.

Last month (December 24), sources told Football Insider that Gallagher is keen to stay with the team and wants to sign new contracts at Stamford Bridge.

With just 18 months left on his present contract, which expires in the summer of 2025, his future is very much up in the air.

Following their 3-1 victory against Bournemouth, Tottenham is now ranked fifth in the Premier League, while Chelsea is ranked 10th following their 3-2 victory over Luton Town.
