Djed Spence of Tottenham Hotspur is expected to finalize his transfer to Genoa shortly, according per several Italian publications.

The 23-year-old will now play in Serie A for Spurs after spending the first half of the season on loan at Leeds United.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the defender landed in the Italian city late on Wednesday in order to begin a loan agreement with Genoa.

The former Middlesbrough player will have his medical examination on Thursday morning before signing a deal with the Italian team. He is part of the deal that will see Radu Drăgușin, a star from Genoa, sign a €25 million contract with Tottenham, with bonuses of €6 million.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Genoa is “ready to welcome” the Tottenham player to replace Silvan Hefti, who left for Marseille earlier this month.

Additionally, they state that the fullback is in the Italian city and that his Thursday morning medical appointments are “scheduled.” TMW adds that Spence will be loaned to Genoa with a €10 million buyout option.

Spence only made seven appearances for Leeds earlier in the season due to an injury that kept him out for more than two months.
