According to Tottenham News, Tottenham has expressed interest in Leo Ostigard, a center-back for Napoli, while Eric Dier is still rumored to be considering a move out of north London.

This season, Ostigard has made 17 appearances for Napoli in all competitions.

The 24-year-old has played in England before and has 19 caps for the Norwegian national team, with one goal scored in those games.

Ostigard played for Brighton’s Under-21 team for 13 games after joining the team in 2018. He then spent some time in the Championship, making 54 appearances between stints with Coventry and Stoke City.

Tottenham News has now learned via a recruitment source with ties to Spurs that the north London team may try to move for the defender as they continue to solidify their back-row options.

An Italian-connected insider has told Tottenham News that Ostigard is “tough” and has the potential to be a “Ange player.”

If Dier leaves the team this month, Spurs might need to add another defensive alternative.

On January 10, Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Sky Sports News Germany, disclosed via his personal X account that the 29-year-old is among Bayern Munich’s top targets, with a verbal agreement already in place between the two parties.

Dier moved from Sporting Lisbon to Spurs in 2014. During his nine and a half-year tenure, he made 364 appearances for the team, tallying 13 goals and dishing out 12 assists.

With just four Premier League matches under his belt this season and six months remaining on his contract, he has dropped down Ange Postecoglou’s priority list and may try to leave the squad this month in pursuit of regular first-team playing time.
