According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur will need to shell out between £10 million and £15 million to sign Adam Wharton, the standout player at Blackburn Rovers, when the summer arrives.

Wharton, who made his debut in Blackburn’s first team the previous year, has become a mainstay in Jon Dahl Tomasson’s midfield this year and is drawing a lot of attention with his performances in the Championship.

Numerous elite teams, including Tottenham, are rumored to be interested in the 18-year-old; in November, 90min reported that the Lilywhites were actively monitoring the young player.

The article further stated that the adolescent was being watched by teams including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Adam Butler

Spurs must spend up to £15 million to acquire Adam Wharton.

Football Insider currently states that Blackburn does not plan to let Wharton to go during the midseason, despite the fact that Premier League teams are showing interest in the midfield player.

The Rovers are reportedly preparing for a possible sale next summer and will reject any approaches for the England Under-20 international during current transfer season.

According to the article, the Championship team would have a hard time declining an offer for their academy graduate at the end of the season that would be in the neighborhood of £10 million to £15 million.

Spurs  Views

The problem Tottenham may have is that Wharton might be more interested in using a mid-table Premier League team as a springboard than joining a team like Spurs right away.

Maybe Postecoglou might convince the eighteen-year-old that a regular starting position at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is attainable.
