One of the Premier League’s most thrilling teams is Tottenham Hotspur.

Although it is thrilling to watch, the North London club approaches every game with the intention of attacking, which occasionally leaves them vulnerable at the back.

In fact, Tottenham does not prioritize defense, and their playing style and lineup reflect this.

Pedro Porro is one of Spurs’ most forward-thinking players at the moment. The Spaniard never stops trying to create opportunities for himself, but we also need to remember that he plays right-back.

Speaking about Porro on Premier League Productions, Tim Sherwood acknowledged that although the player has excelled in the current system, he occasionally struggles defensively.

Porro has defensive difficulties.

Sherwood gave his assessment of the £39 million man.

“They like to play on the halfway line, and Van de Ven is very quick and has the turn of speed to go and sweep everything up, so I think he’s huge for them.” Pedro Porro was criticized harshly by Sherwood, but he has performed admirably in this system. He is a winger who plays inverted, but he finds it difficult to defend, even though the manager doesn’t want him to do so.

Establish equilibrium

Even while we now admire Porro’s style and as a player, there needs to be some balance in this situation.

Although it’s thrilling to watch a full-back play this manner, Spurs may not be able to maintain this style in the long run if they want to advance and become a serious contender for big awards.

Porro needs to work on his defensive skills, but he has plenty of time left at Tottenham—he is only 23—to learn and hone the craft.
