Tottenham and Manchester United drew 2-2 in the Premier League, giving Tottenham a valuable point at Old Trafford. Although the North London team had more possession, United’s precision play ensured that both teams shared the points.

Twice in the game, the Lilywhites had to fight back from behind, with Richarlison’s goal negating an effort by Rasmus Højlund. Spurs were generating chances and pressuring Manchester United to play on the break, just like their home team.

And that’s how Marcus Rashford scored to give his team the lead back, capping off a beautiful pass following a blunder in the Tottenham defense. The England striker’s goal gave the home team the lead at halftime; it was his first at Old Trafford in 15 appearances.

Early in the second half, Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur responded next, silencing the home crowd with a brilliant goal. Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, urged his team to be brave before the match, but they came in second best, as Spurs opened up and gave them a lesson in possession management.

Timo Werner, Richarlison, and Brennan Johnson all had opportunities to put Spurs up, but both teams came away from the game with something, thanks to a mix of solid home defense and subpar finishing.
