As James Maddison nears his injury comeback, Roy Keane thinks the Tottenham Hotspur star is not as talented as many people think.

In November, James Maddison suffered an injury that appeared to be a severe blow. The 27-year-old had gotten off to a fantastic start in North London.

In the first few weeks of the season, Maddison was undoubtedly among the finest players in the Premier League. For the team of Ange Postecoglou, he tallied three goals and provided five assists.

James Maddison did not impress Roy Keane as much as most

Spurs were concerned when Postecoglou declared Maddison out for an extended period of time. However, Maddison appears to be returning in January. And with that, Tottenham fans will be happy since they are still very much in the running for a spot in the Premier League’s top four.

Nevertheless, Roy Keane did not appear to be as thrilled with Maddison’s comeback, which may come as no surprise. In fact, he implied on Stick to Football that, contrary to popular belief, he is not as impressed with the England international.

He is a good player, in my opinion. Not as excellent as what people are portraying. Though I think he’s a wonderful player, I don’t think he’s going to be as good as De Bruyne coming back for them,” he remarked.

The return of the Tottenham player is a major plus for Ange Postecoglou.

It is undeniable that Keane has a point—Tottenham hasn’t collapsed in Maddison’s absence. They started out losing a lot of games. But at the same time, they were also without Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

But since Maddison’s injury, they have scored in each and every league game.

That being said, it is certain that Maddison will undoubtedly return to the starting lineup as soon as he is fully recovered.

Tottenham’s final third currently boasts an abundance of talent. Nevertheless, the player who aims to tie everything together is the former Leicester City player.

If Maddison is in the starting lineup, Spurs opponents will undoubtedly be much more wary of taking on Postecoglou’s team.
