Romaine Mundle, a graduate of the Tottenham system, may return to English football in as little as six months after moving from Spurs to Standard Liege, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Having progressed through Tottenham’s age group divisions, Mundle was a star performer for the Under-21 team in the previous season, ending with eight goals and six assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
When his contract at Hotspur Way expired in June of last year, the agile winger—who can play on either flank—made the decision to quit the team and join Standard Liege.
Having made six senior appearances for the team this season, the 20-year-old has shown some signs of his potential for the Belgian team.

In the Championship, Romaine Mundle is a wanted person.
Romano has now disclosed that other Championship teams are now keen to provide the former Spurs player with a path back to English football.
He disclosed that Swansea City, Stoke City, and Plymouth Argyle are a few of the teams expressing interest in Mundle. It is even reported that Standard Liege rejected the Swans’ initial bid.
According to Lyall Thomas, Swansea is now thinking about making a second offer, with the first deal being valued at roughly £500k.

The primary reason Mundle left Spurs would have been to gain experience playing senior football and attract interest from English teams, both of which have happened.
But given how Postecoglou has supported younger players at Tottenham, the 20-year-old may reflect on the past and question whether he made a mistake in choosing not to extend his contract at Tottenham.
