According to Telefoot, Nice has decided that Jean-Clair Todibo, who is a target for Tottenham, will only be sold for a club-record price.

At the beginning of the month, it was generally believed that Todibo was Tottenham’s top center-back target for the current transfer window. However, because Nice was being hesitant during the discussions, Ange Postecoglou’s team moved their attention to Radu Dragusin (TEAMtalk).

Several French publications have hinted over the last several weeks that the North London team may try to sign the 24-year-old center defender next summer (RMC Sport).

Todibo, Jean-Clair

This month, Jean-Clair Todibo will not be departing.

Three teams are reportedly pursuing the France international: Tottenham, Chelsea, and Napoli. According to Telefoot, the three teams have all communicated with the player’s entourage.

The article claims that the Ligue 1 team has now made the decision to “absolutely want to keep him” with the team through the end of the current campaign.

The article also states that Nice is now optimistic that they will secure a club-record sum for the center defender due to Todibo’s recent strong play.

According to certain reports, including Nice-Martin, the French club reportedly valued the Tottenham target at €60 million (£51.4 million).

Spurs Views

Considering that Spurs already have three excellent center backs at their disposal, I would be shocked if they were to part with £50 million for a fourth central defender the following summer.

Tottenham is more likely to sign a young, talented center back than a player who has established himself in one of the top five leagues in Europe. Additionally, if Ange thinks Ashley Phillips or Alfie Dorrington are ready, there’s a chance they’ll be promoted.
