According to insiders who spoke to Football Insider, Newcastle United is considering shockingly snatching up Tottenham’s transfer for Club Brugge striker Antonio Nusa.

It’s thought that the 18-year-old is being considered by the Magpies as a possible Miguel Almiron replacement.

On Tuesday, January 23, Football Insider announced that Almiron had reached a deal with Al-Shabab, reportedly accepting a “huge” offer from the Saudi Pro League team.

Newcastle and Al-Shabab haven’t yet agreed on a price for the Paraguay international, though.

Through player sales, the Magpies hope to raise money for new hires and strengthen their position in the Financial Fair Play rankings.

Eddie Howe’s team, who has prioritized acquiring young players since their Saudi-backed takeover, has been linked to Nusa as a possible target.

They have discussed internally moving forward with a move for the rising star while Spurs are leading the pack.

On Saturday, January 20, Football Insider reported that Tottenham was very close to acquiring the wonderkid from Club Brugge.

Spurs offered to loan the teenager back to Brugge for the rest of current season, taking the lead in the competition for his signature.

However, Newcastle is currently organizing a move for the Norway international, who wants to stay in Belgium over the summer.

Newcastle Nusa has made 27 appearances this season in all competitions, managing four goals and three assists.

With four caps already under his belt, the winger has one goal and four assists.
