Report: Following the failure of their deal for Emerson, Saudi clubs may try to sign another Spurs player.

In the last week of the January transfer window, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has reportedly become a surprising target for Saudi Pro League teams, according to TEAMtalk.

It was reported a few days ago (The Standard) that Tottenham had rejected an offer from Al-Nassr for Emerson Royal. It now appears that another Spurs player is the target of attention from the Middle East.

Hojbjerg is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans, according to TEAMtalk, and Tottenham is willing to transfer him for the right price.

According to the article, Daniel Levy has been looking for possible suitors for the midfield player, who Spurs are reportedly willing to go with for around £20 million.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia may bid for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Napoli and Juventus are interested in Hojbjerg, but neither team can afford to pay Tottenham’s asking price for the midfielder, according to an update from TEAMtalk.

The former Southampton player now has the option of moving to Saudi Arabia because teams in the Gulf State are not anticipated to have any trouble paying the £20 million fee.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are reportedly “seriously considering” a move for the 28-year-old, who is rumored to be eager for a new challenge abroad.

Spurs  Views

Although Tottenham is willing to sell Hojbjerg to Saudi teams, I don’t believe the Dane would be all that interested in moving to the Middle East at this point in his career.

It is still possible that he will wish to stay in one of the top five leagues in Europe, therefore a direct loan transfer or a low-ball sale will happen before February 1.
