Vicario was “furious” with teammates during the FA Cup loss, and Alasdair Gold explains why.
Alasdair Gold has disclosed that Guglielmo Vicario, the goalkeeper for Tottenham, was incensed at his colleagues following the team’s 1-0 FA Cup loss to Manchester City.
Tottenham looked incredibly flat against the defending Champions, putting on maybe their worst performance under Ange Postecoglou.
Particularly in the first half, when Manchester City dominated possession, they hardly offered a danger offensively and frequently gave the ball away cheaply in the back.
Vicario ended up kicking it out under pressure because the teammates failed to return for passes from him, which was one of the reasons Spurs were not in control.
Alasdair Gold, a Tottenham expert who was covering the game live, claimed that this infuriated the Tottenham goalie.
On X, he posted:
Vicario furious with Spurs players for not coming back to receive passes from him, causing him to have to kick it out under pressure.

Vicario was enraged with the Spurs players for failing to return for his passes, which forced him to shoot under duress.
After Vicario’s punch under duress sent the ball onto his path through a Micky van de Ven deflection, Ake poked in the corner from close range to score the game-winning goal from Kevin de Bruyne.
Despite the controversial goal, VAR determined following a review that Vicario had not been fouled in the build-up.
