Postecoglou is living the dream as Tottenham pulls off the biggest transfer coup of the year.

The finer points of Tottenham’s historic achievement have emerged, as they have effectively spied on Barcelona’s attempt to sign Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall.

In the winter window, Bergvall, then eighteen, had become one of Europe’s hottest young properties. Despite their inability to raise the necessary funds, Manchester United intended to land a deal of their own.

That left the door open for Barcelona, and it looked like the Swede would be heading to Catalonia in the latter hours of the window.

Nonetheless, a number of trustworthy authorities, like as David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, claim that Tottenham has outperformed Barcelona in terms of appeal.

“Lucas Bergvall has chosen to join Tottenham Hotspur over Barcelona in a stunning coup for the Premier League side,” Ornstein led the way in reporting.

Tottenham has been successful in persuading the Djurgardens player to sign with Spurs, and his decision is “final,” thanks to the work of technical director Johan Lange.

Before add-ons, a club-to-club deal for about £8.5m has been reached. Bergvall is scheduled to take a medical exam in London on Friday and then sign a five-year deal.

Following that, Bergvall will play for Djurgardens for the balance of the 2023–2024 campaign before joining his new Tottenham colleagues in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano offered his analysis of X and provided the legendary Spurs theft with his trademark “here we go” affirmation.

Romano added that the trade will proceed through the physical, which is scheduled for Friday after England’s transfer deadline of 11 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Sky Sports, Bergvall won’t be joining Tottenham until the summer, which is why the deal will still be in effect.
