Tottenham completed the deal to sign Lucas Bergvall last week, and skipper Heung-min Son personally welcomed him to the club via a text message.

Spurs had a solid winter transfer window, didn’t they? They signed Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, got rid of a bunch of their players and finally sealed the deal to sign young Bergvall ahead of Barcelona.

Heung-min Son welcomed Lucas Bergvall to Tottenham

Tottenham captain Heung-min Son has been away on international duty since last month.

The 31-year-old went to the Asian Cup with South Korea with the dream of going all the way in the competition this year.

Everything seemed to be going their way too, with big names like Australia and Japan getting knocked out in the previous round.

Sadly for Son, his side suffered a shock defeat to Jordan yesterday, and he will be coming back to North London imminently.

When Tottenham announced Lucas Bergvall‘s arrival, Son was still at the Asian Cup. However, he made sure to welcome the youngster to Spurs via a text message.

Bergvall’s old coach and academy director Peter Kisfaludy, who works as the Sports Coordinator at Djurgarden now, revealed that the youngster was thrilled to see Son text him.

He told Football London: “Even Son texted with Lucas from the Asian Cup after he signed.

“He texted him ‘Welcome to Tottenham’ and Lucas was so happy about it.”

Bergvall could become a star for Tottenham

Lucas Bergvall was heavily linked with a move to numerous top clubs over the last few months.

Barcelona seemed to be the favourites for his signature for a long time, but Spurs swooped in last month and managed to convince him to join them.

Bergvall is a tremendous talent. He’s great on the ball, has already played for Sweden’s national team and the fact that he’s still just 18 means he will only get better.

Under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham next season, he will surely develop even more and could end up becoming a real star for Spurs in the very near future.
