Timo Werner may have to struggle to keep his place in Ange Postecoglou’s squad after having a strong start to his Tottenham Hotspur career.

Timo Werner has contributed a few assists since joining the Spurs, and he has looked promising. He hasn’t quite missed the mark, though. Additionally, in his fewest appearances, Werner has missed a few excellent opportunities.

However, Tottenham should soon have Heung-min Son back in the lineup for the remainder of the season after South Korea’s unexpected loss at the Asian Cup. Furthermore, Werner might be the most obvious choice to be left off of the starting lineup.

Timo Werner may not be happy about Tottenham’s interest in Nico Williams, since Richardson has been playing excellently lately. After that, Son will almost certainly switch to the left, accompanied behind the striker by James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

And considering that Tottenham is already being linked to a few offensive players for the summer transfer window, that might not be the best situation for Werner.

Nico Williams, who has tallied five goals and dished out ten assists across all competitions this year, is one of the names Tottenham is pursuing. Williams has primarily used his left hand to play.

The ‘amazing’ talent, age of 21, has a £43 million release clause in his contract. If the Spain international continues to reach his full potential, that might lead to a possible deal.

January signing is already under strain.

It is difficult to imagine Tottenham pushing to sign Werner on a permanent basis if they bring in Nico Williams.

It felt like a wise decision to sign Werner on loan. He had previously struggled in the Premier League. Furthermore, he did not exactly disprove Chelsea at RB Leipzig.

For Spurs, however, taking on a loan with a £15 million buyout option was a low-risk choice. Actually, if he manages to score a respectable but unremarkable amount of goals while on loan, that might be the biggest issue. Tottenham would then have to make a difficult choice.

But right now, there’s a good chance he could leave the squad. Additionally, there won’t be as much desire to make Werner’s move permanent if Williams keeps up his impressive play for the remainder of the season.
