In advance of Saturday’s match between Leeds and Huddersfield, Daniel Farke provides an update on Georginio Rutter’s injury

Georginio Rutter’s fitness has been updated by Daniel Farke ahead of Leeds United’s trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Whites, who want to make it ten league victories in a row, will make a quick return to league play on the road against their West Yorkshire neighbors after suffering a 3-2 FA Cup loss at Chelsea last night.

Rutter was completely missing from the starting lineup at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, as Farke confirmed both before and after the match that he was dealing with a hernia during practice.

In what is expected to be a very busy and crucial week in the battle for promotion, Leeds cannot afford to be without one of their most important attacking players, and Farke has provided an update on his health today.

Farke gave some really positive news about the 21-year-old during his pre-match press conference, and he anticipates that he will be in the Huddersfield squad.

Farke provides an update on Rutter.

“Excellent news! Georgi trained today and looked great,” he stated. If after this session his body does not respond, he is available for the game.

This is fantastic news, as Rutter is one of those players in Leeds’ lineup who, given his impact on the rest of the attack, they just cannot be without in the final stretch.

Following the team’s victory over Plymouth Argyle, Farke acknowledged that Rutter had appeared fatigued lately and that going a whole week without playing could have been beneficial for him.

Rutter’s dribbling and ingenuity earlier in the season in the 4-1 victory at Elland Road caused Huddersfield all sorts of problems; maybe, he can repeat the feat.

Seeing him return right away to the starting lineup alongside players who did not start at Chelsea, such as Patrick Bamford, Crysencio Summerville, and Willy Gnonto, would not be shocking.
