Following the international break, Aston Villa will host Wolves, a rival team from the Midlands, at Villa Park on Saturday.

With nine games remaining and a top-four spot still firmly in their grasp, the Villans will be looking to cap out the season in style following the last break in play of the 2023–24 campaign.

The run-in will begin with Gary O’Neil’s Wolves, who are playing well, traveling across the Midlands to take on Unai Emery, a manager with an unsettling past against the Old Gold.

Nevertheless, the Villans will be brimming with confidence based on their performance this season, especially because one star player is almost ready to return to action.

Before the Wolves match, Aston Villa makes a fitness hint about Jacob Ramsey.

After missing Villa’s first two Premier League games, Jacob Ramsey was seen returning to Bodymoor Heath for training today.

With only eight starts in the top flight since the start of the 2023–24 season, the Englishman has struggled with injury throughout the campaign.

After spotting the 22-year-old star in a video released by the team’s official media, Emery now appears to put him in contention to make a comeback to the squad on Saturday.

Jacob Ramsey’s return will be a major advantage for Aston Villa against Wolves.

Ramsey missed both of Villa’s previous league games against West Ham and Spurs in addition to the two Europa Conference League games against Ajax.

The Englishman’s ability to carry the ball was crucial during the previous two league games, as the Villans were unable to overcome their London rivals. His absence was much felt.

Not only is it good news for Villa, but it’s also good news for Ramsey, who has struggled with injuries this season and is starting to establish himself as one of the key players in Emery’s lineup.

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – MAY 20: Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa celebrates after scoring the team’s first goal during the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Aston Villa at Anfield on May 20, 2023 in Liverpool, England.

The 22-year-old was a force for his boyhood club and an all-around amazing player to watch in action last season, with six goals and seven assists in the league.

The England U21 international, who was previously deemed a “special talent” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, will be eager to get his season back on track. His comeback will provide the management with a significant boost ahead of Saturday’s test against Wolves.
