It doesn’t seem like Newcastle United’s injury situation will improve in time for their match against Tottenham Hotspur.

This weekend, the Magpies travel to the nation’s capital as Eddie Howe’s team gets ready for yet another away match at a time when they are having a lot of trouble traveling.

Everton defeated Newcastle 3-0 at Goodison Park on Thursday, and they are in desperate need of a win this weekend. Only a few days before their decisive Champions League group match against AC Milan, the weary Toon players require a confidence boost.

Howe should ideally alter his starting lineup several times. That does not appear to be feasible, though.

However, we do expect things to change, and this is the Newcastle squad Eddie Howe is likely to select to play Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Starting against his former club, Tottenham, is Kieran Trippier.

When he faces his old team, Tottenham, Kieran Trippier will be keen to get back on track after making a few errors against Everton.

The £12 million player will miss the Magpies’ match against Fulham if he receives a yellow card on Sunday because he is just one booking away from a suspension.

Jamaal Lascelles, who was substituted against Everton, is another player who may sustain an injury. He is anticipated to be well enough to lead the boys out at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and start the game.

Lewis Hall comes into the Newcastle starting XI

We do anticipate one change in defence, with Lewis Hall coming in to play at left-back ahead of Tino Livramento.

But this has nothing to do with Livramento’s form. Although the 21-year-old has been fantastic, he might benefit from a brief rest before the Champions League matchup with AC Milan.

Given that Hall, a teenager who joined from Chelsea, has only started one Premier League game thus far, this could be his chance.

There are no new attackers for Eddie Howe.

The main issue with Newcastle’s injury crisis is that Howe has no one to add to his front three or midfield.

Consequently, the Magpies will start with the same midfield and attack as they have in their previous four contests. Lewis Miley, who was one of the few players to stand out against Everton, will now get to start again.

Howe will be expecting more from his front three against the Spurs. On Thursday night, Miguel Almiron and Anthony Gordon both missed opportunities to score in the last three minutes.

Predicted XI vs Spurs: Dubravka; Trippier, Lascelles, Schar, Hall; Miley, Bruno, Joelinton; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.
