Following his departure from Rangers, Michael Beale became the new manager of Sunderland. With Charlie Cresswell and Jamie Shackleton of Leeds United, he should pique curiosity once more.

After a fruitful first season as manager at QPR, Beale made an immediate impression at Rangers. However, after 2023–24 got off to a bad start, he lost his job. The Scottish side has benefited from this transfer.

Currently on Leeds’ roster are two players Beale desired when serving as Rangers’ head coach, and two more could become available in the upcoming month. At Elland Road, Cresswell is having trouble getting into the game.

Michael Beale should entice the Leeds duo to Sunderland as he wants them.

Although Shackleton is getting closer to the end of his Leeds deal, he is still somewhat involved. Whether Leeds play in the Championship or the Premier League the next season, he is not likely to sign a new contract.

In the summer, Rangers were eager to make a move for Shackleton. He wouldn’t be available for free to Sunderland until May, but if Beale decided to rekindle his interest in him, he could sign him for a very low cost.

Leeds is unlikely to extend an offer, so the team might decide it would be better to sell him for a profit rather than let him walk away empty-handed the next summer. That could encourage Beale and Sunderland to move in January.

Cresswell has already been connected to loan teams Middlesbrough and Southampton. Beale was connected to another person at Rangers. Undoubtedly, Beale’s January list will include a center-back if that is what Sunderland wants.

Given that both of the Leeds players are having difficulty playing, there’s a chance that Beale will rekindle his Rangers interest in them. If he does decide to move, he will undoubtedly be successful.
