According to Football Insider, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s planned transfer to Juventus has encountered a snag because the two teams cannot agree on a loan amount.

According to the report, Hojbjerg was shown in the shop window by Spurs after Ange Postecoglou given the Danish player the all-clear to depart.

It is understood that Juve had made the former Southampton player their top priority for January, and the Australian is planning to bring another midfielder in the door to replace the 28-year-old.

Juventus refuses to cover the Hojbjerg loan amount.
However, the newspaper reports that the Serie A giants baulked at the loan sum that the Premier League side sought for Hojbjerg when the two teams head discussions for an initial loan deal.

According to the report, negotiations have been put on hold for the time being as a result, but a deal may still be reworked later in the transfer season.

A little more than a week has passed since Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the Bianconeri are reconsidering a move for Hojbjerg and may wait until next summer to pursue the Spurs star. This update from Football Insider confirms that speculation.

SpursĀ  Views

It appears likely that Hojbjerg’s deal to Juventus will happen in the last few days of the transfer window, if at all.

It would also be reasonable to anticipate that many other teams would be interested in the Dane, but Postecoglou would be hesitant to let the 28-year-old go without first bringing in a replacement.
