Ahead of a demanding second half of the season, Unai Emery has instructed Villa’s players to make the most of their winter vacation.
The coach has given his team an extra day off so they can rest and recover before they begin training for their FA Cup fourth-round match against Chelsea the following week.
soaring high Third in the Premier League, Villa has participated in 31 games across all competitions and is battling on three fronts, having advanced to the Europa Conference League round of 16.
“We are going to rest for a few days,” Emery declared. The players, in my opinion, merit it.
“I want to take a break so that when we return the following week, we can tackle the second half of the season with all of our might. We finished with 43 points from 21 league games, so I’m happy with our performance.
Villa is still in the process of trying to acquire Red Star Belgrade’s teenage right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic.
