Ian Wright is still in disbelief at Eric Dier’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur and his recent transfer to Bayern Munich.

Every transfer window sees a few unexpected moves happen, but we doubt many saw Dier joining Bayern Munich or Jordan Henderson heading to Ajax. Wright finds the latter hard to accept.

Eric Dier’s surprise move from Tottenham to Bayern Munich startled Ian Wright.

Eric Dier was a consistent player for Tottenham for over ten years.

But it was obvious that Ange Postecoglou didn’t like him.

Dier was unable to integrate into the Tottenham team. He was not even considered after injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Naturally, everyone assumed Dier would sign with a team smaller than Tottenham in January. He did, however, go and sign with one of the biggest teams in the world, Bayern Munich.

Many people were shocked by that, and Wright has since brought it up again when talking about Jordan Henderson’s transfer to Ajax this week.

“Amazing,” he commented on the podcast for Wrighty’s House. Similar to Eric Dier, who signs for Bayern Munich after failing to break into the Tottenham team. How in the world?

Dier hasn’t made his Bayern debut yet.

Dier witnessed his teammate Harry Kane score in the ninetieth minute of Bayern Munich’s victory over Hoffenheim last weekend while watching from the stands.

The Englishman has spent the entire week training in Germany with Thomas Tuchel, and with Matthijs De Ligt’s injury, he now has the opportunity to make his debut.

Tomorrow, Bayern plays Werder Bremen in an attempt to get closer to Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Dier is going to become an immediate hero among Bayern Munich supporters if he starts and makes an impact.
