Following Nottingham Forest’s loss to Brentford yesterday, Jonathan Walters has targeted a few players.
The former striker for the Premier League staked his claim on X.
When are players going to stop lying down behind walls?!
It’s Pointless. He’s lying down doing zero!
If he gets up and joins the end of the wall, this isn’t a goal.
Yates knew exactly what was coming!

What has Walters stated about Forest following their loss to Brentford, then? Let’s investigate more closely.
Jonathan Walters’ comments following Forest’s defeat on Saturday
The man who represented the Republic of Ireland in his playing days doesn’t seem to have been pleased with Forest’s opening goal.
Walters is especially upset with Danilo and Matt Turner because they support Ryan Yates, who seemed to have predicted it would happen.
Halfway through the first half, Brentford was awarded a free kick in a dangerous position with Ivan Toney standing over it.
Lightning did strike twice for Forest last season, as the striker struck from a similar spot.
Walters doesn’t realize that Danilo was functioning as the draught excluder by lying over the back of the wall!
Walters visited X this morning and expressed his dissatisfaction with the Forest goal that Forest gave up. He shared…
View Tweet Forest needs to quit giving up easy goals.
To the myriad of apparent goalkeeping issues Matt Turner has, add the inability to construct a wall.
From the perspective of the Forest, this was disastrous from the time Orel Mangala gave a free kick.
Walters is most likely correct. Toney’s chances of scoring would have been considerably more difficult if Danilo had been positioned at the end of the wall.
Toney may have moved the ball, according to some. Even though the striker is being a little wicked, the defense unit still needs to be on the lookout for these things.
Walters raised an excellent point about Forest last night, and Nuno Espirito Santo and set-piece coach Simon Rusk will undoubtedly need to address this.
