Insider has disclosed that Manchester City is preparing to pursue a summer re-signing of Pedro Porro.

Porro cost £11 million when he was purchased by City from Girona in 2019, but the right-back never played a senior role for Pep Guardiola’s team.

He was loaned out to Sporting Lisbon and Valladolid before joining the Portuguese powerhouses permanently in the summer of 2022.

After just six months, Spurs paid £44 million to acquire him from the Jose Alvalade Stadium. At first, he had trouble adjusting to the Premier League’s faster tempo and occasionally performed poorly on defense.

But since Ange Postecoglou joined the team last summer, Porro has been one of Tottenham’s most reliable players and may be the best right-back in the Premier League this year.

Man City is considering a move for Pedro Porro of Tottenham

Football Insider claims that Man City has taken notice of Porro’s performances at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is rumored to have a “strong interest” in the right-back.

According to the article, the defending Premier League winners are reportedly closely monitoring both the Spurs player and Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa in preparation for next summer.

Football Insider claims that the Lilywhites are willing to pay a staggering £100 million for the Spain international.

Spurs Views

Porro appears to be content at Tottenham, but even if he does decide to seek to leave, Daniel Levy would probably demand a huge sum of money, which will put City off. Spurs have a great deal going for them because the right-back is under contract with the team through 2028.
