On November 5, 2022, in Dortmund, Germany, Giovanni Reyna of Borussia Dortmund is seen in action during the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum 1848 at Signal Iduna Park.

It is rumored that Nottingham Forest and Gio Reyna have agreed to a loan signing.

It’s rumored that Nottingham Forest and Borussia Dortmund have agreed on Gio Reyna’s loan deal.

According to recent rumors, Aston Villa is reportedly interested in signing the American midfielder, while the Reds are reportedly “in talks” to sign him. Since making his Bundesliga debut for Dortmund in January 2020, the 21-year-old has tallied 17 goals and provided 16 assists.

ESPN now claims that Reyna and Forest have agreed on a loan deal, with the possibility of a permanent move. Marseille, who the newspaper claims to have signed a similar agreement with two unidentified clubs, has shown new interest, though.

According to reports, the USA international is “determined” to quit the club in the current window. Reyna’s father, Claudio, and agent, Jorge Mendes, are reportedly putting in a lot of effort to get her a move in the upcoming weeks, whether it be a temporary or permanent one.

ESPN reports that Dortmund would demand about €15 million for a long-term deal. Reyna has been urged by the German team’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, to improve his fitness and form going forward and increase his role for them in the second half of the campaign.

“Gio struggled and was hurt a lot,” Kehl said to Sky Sports Germany. “The lineup we have in the center makes it difficult. It makes sense that he might not be happy right now. However, it’s also critical that he apply more pressure.”

Reyna would be the first player signed by head coach Nuno Espirito Santo during the January transfer window. Earlier this month, Jamie Newton, a promising defender from Rangers, joined Forest’s B-

team, bolstering its ranks.
