Newcastle United star to join Chelsea for £18 million – Report
According to FootballTransfers’ Jacque Talbot, the Blues are thinking about matching Newcastle’s £18 million asking price for the forward.
Wilson looks appealing after scoring 25 league goals in the last 18 months, as Mauricio Pochettino is rumored to be looking for a proven Premier League goalscorer to join either this month or over the summer.
This month, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have expressed interest in the 31-year-old, but it appears Chelsea may make a late move. Since joining the team over the summer, Nicolas Jackson has had difficulty staying consistent, and fellow forward Christopher Nkunku has persistent fitness problems.
On the BBC Footballer’s Football Podcast this week, he discussed his future, saying: “It’s January, the window is open, and there’s always speculation around players, not just with myself but with everybody else in the squad.” Other than that, I don’t have much more to say.
