It is “possible,” according to Eddie Howe, that Joelinton’s game for Newcastle United is his last.

Following thigh surgery earlier this week, the Brazilian is out for the remainder of the season. Joelinton will only have a year remaining on his St. James’ Park deal when he returns.

When discussing Joelinton’s injury, Howe said, “It is a massive blow for us.” He changes the dynamic in our midfield. We will really miss him, but we will have to make do without.”

The midfield player and the Magpies have been in talks about a new contract, but it’s believed that the player wants a higher salary than the team is now ready to offer.

Howe wants to see Joelinton sign a long-term contract extension, but he has little control over the player’s destiny.

Howe stated, “He has 18 months left on his contract.” “I’m determined for him to stay as his manager. I would want him to sign a long-term contract because I adore him as a person and a player.

There is, of course, more to it than that. There are Joe’s desires and wishes. He has to be completely satisfied before he signs a contract. That stage has not yet reached.”

Howe replied, “I’m not a fortune teller but it’s a possibility,” in response to a question about whether Joelinton had played his final game for the team. I hope that isn’t the situation.

“Since his contract only lasts for 18 months, it’s possible he’ll be sold in the summer.”
