Sources: Despite Marseille’s interest, Nottingham Forest is still optimistic about landing an exciting new signing.

HITC Football believes that Nottingham Forest is still optimistic that they will sign Borussia Dortmund winger Giovani Reyna this month.

HITC Football is aware that the East Midlands team, who are presently having problems with Financial Fair Play along with Sean Dyche’s Everton, are certain they can withstand Marseille’s interest in signing the American player.

It seems that with less than a week to go, Forest are scouring the market to see what kind of quality they can get into the club with the Borussia Dortmund forward regarded to be an attainable target.

So much so that, as HITC disclosed, Forest and Marseille have struck a contract in principle for Reyna to play on loan for the remainder of the season with a buyout option.

Forest is still optimistic.

The Premier League team is certain that they will prevail in the competition to recruit the promising 21-year-old attacker, even if French powerhouse Marseille has entered the battle to sign the American forward.

Under head coach Edin Terzic, Reyna has fallen down the hierarchy at Signal Iduna Park this season, and it is rumored that the German powerhouses are amenable to his leaving.

Jadon Sancho from Manchester United and Ian Maatsen on a season-long loan from Chelsea have already been added to Dortmund, and it appears the German team is now having to make savings.

Reyna might be crucial to Forest

Reyna’s father, Claudio, played football for Sunderland, Rangers, and Manchester City in addition to Sunderland at the time Reyna was born.

It is unknown what their punishment for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations will be, but he would be a very important coup for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team as they attempt to avoid relegation.

It would be a fantastic signing if Forest could get this through the final hurdle.
