With a “crucial” Leeds player, Daniel Farke acknowledges he has had to be “patient,” but it is now paying off.

Daniel Farke’s team continued to put pressure on Ipswich and Southampton on Wednesday as Leeds United defeated Norwich for the fifth time in a row. Junior Firpo has contributed to this winning streak.

Against Birmingham City, Firpo, 27, was named in the starting lineup for the first of this winning streak of five games. He will continue to play in the games against Peterborough, Cardiff, Preston, and Norwich on Wednesday, winning 1-0.

The left-back, who joined the team in 2021 from Barcelona, is now beginning to perform to the level that many had anticipated of him. In fact, he acknowledges that this is the happiest he’s been since coming to join us.

a run of four assists and four clean sheets in those five games, with only one goal given up against Preston. Right now, Firpo is Farke’s first choice on the left side of the defense.

During his post-match press conference following the 1-0 victory over Norwich, Farke expressed his happiness to Firpo. He acknowledges that he has had to be patient with the defense, but the lefty is now benefiting from his patience.

I had to wait five months to get him back, so I had to exercise patience. Despite numerous defeats over the years, he never lost faith in his physical abilities. Returning for a few weeks,” Farke stated in reference to Firpo.

One of our seasoned players with a wealth of experience. He is more experienced. It is essential to have these players. Several assists in the previous games. Today, defensive steel versus Rowe. We’re glad he’s back.

Daniel Farke is gushing about Junior Firpo, the defender for Leeds United.

Once again, he was outstanding, and Firpo was unlucky not to record his fifth assist in five games when Patrick Bamford, trying to attempt an overhead kick, misdirected his chipped cross. The lone goal went to Bamford.

Real Sociedad has taken notice of Firpo’s play this month, but it appears that he will stay at Elland Road for the foreseeable future as he approaches the last 18 months of his contract. Interesting to see if he gets a new deal.
