According to Sky Italia on Friday, Napoli and Fiorentina are eager to recruit Nicolò Zaniolo of Aston Villa in the summer.
The winger was signed by Aston Villa on loan from Galatasaray, and it seems doubtful that they would keep him past this season.
Napoli is reportedly interested in the 24-year-old, who wants to leave Aston Villa and “have fun” somewhere else next season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
After a challenging season, both the Naples club and the Italy international are eager to improve.
Zaniolo tried a new adventure in England by moving to Aston Villa from Turkey, but things didn’t work out for him. This season, he has been relegated to a substitute position under Unai Emery, and despite his admiration for the manager, he is not happy with the little playing time.
The former AS Roma player wants to go back to Italy, be near his family, and resume his impact on the field. He simply wants to return to Serie A and “have fun.”
Fiorentina and Napoli are vying for the services of the Aston Villa player. Giovanni Manna, the director of Juventus, is the person the former are hoping to name as their next sporting director.
He attempted to acquire Zaniolo for the Turin team and could support his transfer to Napoli.
According to Gazzetta, there’s a sense that the talks might pick up steam in the upcoming months because Zaniolo is regarded as transferable by the Istanbul club and Aston Villa hasn’t indicated that they intend to hold onto him.
The Turkish team reportedly needs to pay “around €20m” in order to let off of the attacker.
