Newcastle United has now joined the list of people who adore Jonathan David, the quick forward for Lille.

According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle is currently considering removing the Lille striker from France. Although he has struggled to get going this season, the Canadian striker, who is valued at approximately £51 million, has dazzled at Lille with his goal-scoring ability in former seasons.

Despite his sluggish start, the 23-year-old has attracted the attention of teams like Tottenham and AC Milan.

Jonathan David had an outstanding goals-per-game record the previous season.

Jonathan David scored just seven goals in 23 games this season, compared to 26 goals and four assists in 40 matches last season.

Newcastle would be a fantastic fit for Jonathan David.

But class is permanent and form is transient, and Jonathan David wasn’t designated as “elite” for nothing.

Given that Newcastle lost both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak at the same time this season, exposing our lack of depth in that area, the club could certainly use a third striker.

Say something, Sven

Signing Jonathan David would be amazing. His lightning-fast speed and ability to run right at opponents would be a great advantage.

Sven Botman, his former Lille teammate, should be able to speak up and appreciate the squad, the supporters, and the city. Perhaps show him a couple of the strange bridges’ photos.

Although £51 million may seem expensive, considering his age and skill, it’s a good deal. We’re hoping this one has some merit.
