Georginio Rutter disclosed the discussion he held with Illan Meslier before to his January arrival at Leeds United.
Earlier this year, Rutter relocated to Elland Road from Hoffenheim; Meslier was a fellow international for the French U21 team.
Rutter had a very difficult first few months at Leeds; in May, it was even claimed that some of his teammates had to communicate to him in French because of his difficulties with the language.
After relegation, he has shown himself and is now a fan favourite. His first few appearances at Leeds provoked discussions among commentators and supporters over why so much money was spent on him beforehand.
Additionally, Rutter disclosed in an interview with the most recent episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast that one of the things Meslier informed him about the team was the “crazy” fans, which he has been able to encounter favourably this season.
Rutter has become a beloved figure among Leeds supporters.
“It was good because he helped me a lot when I first came,” Rutter remarked. My English was appallingly poor. I asked Illan how Leeds and the city were before coming here, and he was of great assistance to me.
“The city is excellent, and the fans are crazy,” he told me. There are occasions when the city is awful and you visit a new club. Our daily conversation is in French.
During his first few months, Rutter never had a fair chance because most of his cameos came when Leeds was already behind three goals.Even Sam Allardyce declared in the open that he would not be utilising him.

Fans still adore Rutter despite the fact that he missed a number of excellent opportunities during the campaign because of his inventiveness, dribbling, and zeal for the squad.
