During his pre-Ipswich Town press conference on Thursday, Daniel Farke hinted that his Leeds United team may rotate players over the course of the next few weeks.

Leeds hosts the Tractor Boys, who enter the game 10 points ahead of the Whites in second place, to start the first of four games in nine days.

Ian Poveda and Junior Firpo, who have both been out for a few weeks, may return to the team this coming weekend, according to Farke.

Given the recent lack of changes to his squad, it seems doubtful that either will be thrust back into the starting lineup.

In light of that, the following is our expected Leeds starting lineup for the game.

Although goalie Ian Meslier has shown a touch unsteady lately, it seems improbable that Karl Darlow will take his place.

Defence

As previously reported, Firpo’s return to training has allowed Leeds to have a recognised left-back once more, but it might be too early in the game for him to start.

As a result, Djed Spence will start on the left for the third straight game, while Archie Grey will start on the other side.

In central defence, Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon remain partnered.

Midfield

In an interview earlier this week, Ethan Ampadu refuted rumours that he was tired and will once more start in central midfield.

Although Ilia Gruev should have his chance during the holiday season, Glen Kamara is anticipated to accompany him in the engine room.

Assault

With several strong cameos off the bench, Wilfried Gnonto is still pushing for a spot in the starting lineup, although Boxing Day seems more likely for him.

In light of this, Farke is anticipated to start Crysencio Summerville, Dan James, Joel Piroe, and Georginio Rutter, the same “unplayable” front four of the previous few months.

Predicted starting lineup: James, Piroe, Summerville, Rutter; Ampadu, Kamara; Grey, Rodon, Struijk, Spence, Meslier
