Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has stated that defender Ryan Sessegnon missed the previous game against Manchester United owing to an injury.

Sessegnon had just recently made a comeback to the field following a summertime hamstring injury suffered during practice.

He came on for the final ten minutes of the match against Burnley last week, but it wasn’t his best cameo.

It has now been disclosed that he was knocked out again, which is why he was unable to attend the match at Old Trafford.

He gave the reason for Sessegnon’s absence after the game.

Through Football London, he stated:

“Ryan Sessegnon missed this week due to a minor niggle from last week. He should be back in a few weeks.”

Throughout his time with the Spurs, Sessegnon has struggled with injuries.

He has missed 21 games already this season. He missed 22 games in the previous season and 31 games the season before (Transfermarkt).

Says TBH:

Even though he has tremendous potential, we might have to consider trading him in the future summer due to his persistent injury issues.

With his impressive performance thus far, Destiny Udogie has solidified his position as the starting left-back. However, we must appoint a more capable backup to the role.
