If Ben Davies, a defender for Tottenham, is made available by business at Spurs before deadline day, Leeds United would like to take him on loan in the January transfer window, according to Phil Hay.

Although the interest is currently only theoretical, Davies has joined Rangers defender Borna Barisic and Ryan Giles of Luton on the list of targets, according to a story published by The Athletic on January 17.

Davies would team up with fellow Tottenham loanee and fellow countryman Joe Rodon at Elland Road. Rodon has had an incredible first half of the season under Daniel Farke.

Leeds United

Unexpectedly, a late move

A late move to bring the Welsh international to Elland Road would surprise many, especially considering the role Davies has played under Ange Postecoglou so far this season. However, it is made clear that the interest is just theoretical at this time.

With players like Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero missing many matches due to injuries, Spurs have been forced to employ Davies as a temporary center-back rather than his typical left-back position.

But at Leeds, with his quality and experience and the fact that Junior Firpo and Sam Byram have already had multiple injuries this season, he would be the main player in that more natural position.

Leeds United Davis would be joining international teammates Rodon, Daniel James, and Ethan Amapdu at Elland Road, thus he would be able to quickly fit in with the team and improve the level of play under Farke.

In unrelated Leeds United news, there have been discussions about an agency leaving Leeds.
