Chelsea will play their last game of 2023 tomorrow, providing us with another festive serving of the team so soon after their farewell Premier League action.

Sportskeeda has been informed by Paul Merson that they would not be leaving on a positive note.

While the entire year won’t be remembered, it wouldn’t be fair to argue that there weren’t any indications in the latter part of the year that things were starting to get better.

But there’s a chance tomorrow afternoon to win a London derby and cap off a challenging twelve months.

When the Blues last played Luton Town in August, they won easily for the first time this season, but since then, their opponents have changed significantly.

According to Merson, the points will likely be discussed tomorrow afternoon.

Merson believes Luton and Chelsea will draw.
“I was at Chelsea last night and felt they were fortunate to get all three points as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1 with a late penalty,” the man stated. I believe that this will be a difficult game because Luton Town is a strong club at home.

None of the opponents Luton has faced have beaten them handily, based on their home form. While teams like Manchester City and Arsenal won by the odd goal, they drew with Liverpool and defeated Newcastle United at Kenilworth Road.

Although I don’t think Luton will win three points, I do believe that this match will end in a draw. Their performance at home is excellent, but if they want to have a serious chance of staying in the league, they must start winning away from home. They also need to start managing games more effectively because they tend to lose interest in football games in the final 20 minutes.

Mauricio Pochettino will have his work cut out for him when it comes to selection, and Noni Madueke’s cameo will help him establish his credentials.
